Established in 2017, Architecture Associates (AA) is led by Danielle Peck, practising architect and educator. The firm works across all scales, with current projects ranging from furniture size to urban design scale.
Research and experimentation are core components of AA’s ability to engage with clients looking for different approaches to conventional architectural problems. These pursuits allow the development of original thinking that ultimately culminates in commissioned work. Danielle’s teaching roles at both RMIT University and The University of Melbourne enable testing of ideas embedded in the sociopolitical issues of contemporary cities and cultural phenomena. Her broad approach and ability to grasp complex city-scale systems is at the core of her passion for design.
Prior to establishing AA, Danielle gained experience at some of Melbourne’s most respected and awarded practices in leadership roles. She has worked across a wide range of types and delivered projects within the institutional, educational, community and residential sectors.
Danielle received her education in Australia and the United States, holding BA(Arch) and M(Arch) degrees from RMIT University and completing exchange studies at SCI-arc University in 2008. Her thesis project, completed in 2010 was awarded the Anna Butler Memorial Prize and subsequently won the Victorian state-wide Graduate Prize in Architecture award.
Danielle is keenly interested in developing relationships between architecture and fine art practice. She takes an inclusive approach as a consequence and often engages with those external to her profession; AA’s collaborative shortlisted proposal for the Point Grey Lorne project, a major public project situated on The Great Ocean Road in Victoria is an example of how she likes to work.
